Hammersmith and Fulham CAMHS offer comprehensive outpatient assessment and treatment to children and young people up to their 18th birthday. It also provides consultation, liaison and teaching to professionals within the local authority, health and voluntary sectors. Hammersmith and Fulham CAMHS is part of the CAMHS and Developmental Services directorate within Local Services in West London Mental Health Trust. The Tier 3 (Specialist) NDLD service at Glenthorne Road is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of child psychiatrists, child psychotherapists, family therapists, clinical psychologists, psychiatric nurses and administrative staff. Community CAMHS services are offered by a multidisciplinary team who also have a base at Glenthorne Road, facilitating integrated working.
You will be joining an enthusiastic and committed team in the Hammersmith Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service, and will be based in the NDLD Team at 48 Glenthorne Road, London W6 0LS. Flexible working can be discussed should you be successful in being shortlisted for interview. H&F NDLD CAMHS team conduct ADHD and ASD assessments, as well as offering pharmacological treatments, talking therapy and advice and support to other professionals including social services and education. Our service currently operates from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. There will also be opportunities to receive training and contribute to quality improvement and research should you wish.
Main duties of the job
You will maintain accurate, legible, contemporaneous and useful clinical records for all patients in whose care you are involved. The majority of your work will be recorded on our electronic system, Rio.
Conditions such as Hyperkinetic Disorder ( ADHD) and emotional and behavioural difficulties in the context of Learning Disability offer you opportunities to study the management of chronic conditions in CAMHS. Specific training opportunities include assessment and management of wide range of clinical presentations in the age group of 0-18. This includes learning to use specialised screening tools and outcome measures including Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire, Conner’s ADHD Questionnaires and CYP IAPT measures, and observing Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule. Training in communication and interview skills as appropriate to the practice of psychiatry is available and will be tailored to your needs, should this be required.
