This is a 6 PA substantive post based in the Trafalgar Clinic (Sexual Health and HIV) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) Woolwich. The purpose of the role is to support and strengthen the consultant team with a particular focus on supporting the highly successful HIV testing programme in the Emergency Department, the assessment and management of people newly-diagnosed with HIV infection, supporting work around re-engaging people who have fallen out of HIV care, and delivery of complex sexual health care including PrEP. The post will be based in the Trafalgar Clinic at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The department does not undertake contraception care. We are a very supportive department and the post holder will work closely with the consultant team and wider MDT. This is an ideal post for a doctor who already has some experience in Sexual Health and HIV Medicine but who wishes to consolidate and develop their skills. The post is for 6 sessions per week with no on-call commitments or weekend/evening working.
The post-holder will be a senior member of the Sexual Health/HIV team, running clinics, supporting the sexual health service, supervising junior colleagues and teaching undergraduates. They will be supported to undertake audit, research and quality improvement projects. They will be fully integrated into the medical team and will be eligible for study leave with a supporting budget to accommodate CPD.
