The Pears Cumbria School of Medicine (PCSM) which is also a new venture in the region between university of Cumbria and Imperial college London. The aim is to produce doctors committed to delivering cutting-edge healthcare approaches and serve the needs of the Cumbria community.

This is a full time (10PA) post for a specialty doctor to provide medical input into East CTT cumbria.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder is expected to:

  • Participate in the engagement, assessment, diagnosis and formulation of patients referred to the CTT.
  • Support the medical workforce on the west CTT
  • Be committed to delivering excellence in clinical care,
  • Work effectively with the multidisciplinary community team and in-patient teams.
  • Promote the safety and well-being of the patients we serve.
  • To respect the rights and the dignity of patients.
  • To consider the individual and cultural needs of patients and
  • To work with families and carers in the best interest of the patient (in line with the Trust Carers’ Charter).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This is a 10PA post for a specialty doctor to provide medical input into the East Adult community Treatment team located at Portland House Team located in Carlisle.

The post holder is expected to have total DCC of 9pa and 1pa for SPA.

Post holder will work along with multidisciplinary team covering the adult population in North-Cumbria.

The post holder will provide senior clinical expertise in the assessment and treatment of individuals with complex mental health problems and what are termed as at-risk mental states.
