Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Specialty Doctor to join our modern, progressive Dermatology service at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a friendly, supportive team delivering high-quality care across a wide range of dermatological conditions.

Our service forms part of Care Group 1 (Medicine & UECC) and benefits from excellent facilities, strong multidisciplinary working, and established links with colleagues across South Yorkshire. The department sees around 6,000 new patients each year and undertakes a significant volume of day-case procedures, offering excellent exposure and development opportunities.

You will work alongside a Locum Consultant, an experienced Specialty Doctor, nursing team and wider MDT, contributing to outpatient clinics, minor surgery and service development. We are seeking a doctor who is committed to high clinical standards, collaborative working and continuous improvement.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide high-quality general dermatology care across outpatient and day-case settings, contributing to clinics, minor surgery and joint working with the wider MDT. You will independently assess, diagnose and manage patients with a broad range of dermatological conditions, escalating appropriately and seeking senior advice where required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering outpatient clinics and supporting day-case surgical lists
  • Maintaining high clinical standards and ensuring excellent patient experience
  • Supporting teaching and supervision of junior medical and nursing staff
  • Participating in clinical governance, audit, service development and CPD
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Care Group and wider Trust
  • Contributing to pathway and service improvement projects as agreed

You will also participate in departmental meetings, contribute to service planning, and work flexibly to support safe and effective delivery of care.
