Job summary

0.2 WTE (7.5 hours ) Band 6 SLT 1 year fixed term initially - There is a separate 3 days term time only post being advertised as well. Base: Kimberworth Place, Kimberworth Road, Rotherham S61 1HE (5 mins from Meadowhall shopping centre) An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist in our friendly and innovative Speech and Language Therapy team. We are looking for a dynamic SLT to provide assessment, advice and intervention for children with ASD. Workday and pattern can be flexible. The post holder would ideally have experience working with children with ASD, SMEH, SEN and preferably have experience working in a school environment collaboratively working with educational professionals to help meet the individual childs holistic needs. Rotherham is a friendly and dynamic Speech and Language Therapy department. Caseloads are divided into specialist teams to ensure that all therapists working with similar client groups are part of a strong supporting team. This post sits within the ASD/SEMH team.

Main duties of the job

To provide direct and indirect interventions for children with Autism /SEMH and SEN. To develop and provide training for practitioners and carers around managing Autism /SEMH To work with the team build up a set of resources for children with SEMH and Autism To attend meetings with other Practitioners. To ensure that interventions are carried out consistently in the home and school setting in order to maximise the effectiveness of interventions. To work in partnership with other agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. To undertake regular safeguarding training and supervision. To follow local pathways and policies for safeguarding e.g. signs of safety, emarf referrals. To contribute to case conferences and court reports when required.
