Job overview

Come and join our friendly and supportive speech and language therapy team in the Central Sussex locality. We currently have an opportunity for a  fixed term maternity cover Band 6 post working within the Mainstream and Specialist Support Centre (SSC) teams.  This would be a varied role with opportunities for delivering therapy alongside completing assessments and reviews.

The Central team consists of 45+ staff working in different clinical areas. The team are friendly, approachable and keen to support each other.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be responsible for managing your own  caseload within identified settings, providing assessment, therapy,  advice and training as required.  An ability to develop strong working relationships with  education staff is essential and you will also have the opportunity to work closely with our team of SLT Assistants.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To assess, treat and manage own caseload of children with speech, language and communication delay and disorder in specialist area.
  • To provide advice to other professionals and parents in order to support the needs of children with speech, language and communication delay and disorder in specialist area.
  • To liaise with other agencies and services e.g. schools, social care, and voluntary agencies.
  • To advise and provide clinical support to other speech and language therapists
