An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and flexible Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Speech and Language Therapy team in Sheffield. Following retirement and subsequent re-organisation we are looking for a part time 30 hours (0.80wte) Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to work within the regional Gender Identity Clinic based in Sheffield.

The service is well respected and has excellent links with the Speech and Language Therapy Clinical Voice team together with the wider Speech and Language Therapy service in STH.

Applicants must have:

• Attained a level of experience proportionate to the competencies detailed in the Job Description and Person Specification.
• Significant post graduate experience.
• Experience of multi-disciplinary working.
• Registration with the Health Care Professions Council and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Experience of assessment and management of clinical voice disorders.

Main duties of the job

You will work in collaboration with trans and gender diverse people to explore voice and communication to discover how best to facilitate and support authentic voice.

As well as one to one initial assessments and follow up appointments you will support the delivery of group therapy via telehealth or in person. You will work alongside and be supported by a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist in Porterbrook Gender Identity Clinic as part of the Voice and Communication Therapy team.
