The Children’s Integrated Speech and Language Therapy Service for Hackney and the City is a unique partnership between health and education and has grown into a large dynamic team that delivers innovative models of working. It is a welcoming, fun and supportive place to work. With well-established clinical supervision and access to CPD it is a great place to make the move and become a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.
We have more than one post available. These posts are part of our service to Autistic and complex needs children. There are sessions available in Additionally Resourced Provisions, special schools, Autism specialist support, HIT squad (an MDT team delivering training and support to leisure providers to enable them to include children with SEND); as well as mainstream schools.
It is an excellent chance to be part of an exciting and growing SaLT network within this clinical area raising awareness of SLCN and providing holistic, relevant and functional support to children, and the professionals around them. Preferences will be discussed at interview, and the exact combination of the post will be dependent on interest, experience and service need.
The service has developed the largest and most comprehensive traded services offer in the UK. We are proud to be commissioned by health, education and schools and colleges in Hackney and out of borough as well as Youth Justice and the Virtual School for Looked after Children.
The sessions will be mainly as part of the Autism service, with primary and / or secondary age students. Some time will be based within settings, as the Link SaLT; and some will be supporting the wider team to develop their Autism practice. There are also some sessions available in mainstream schools.
Candidates’ preferences will be taken into account where possible. The service employs over 100 staff and so opportunities arise frequently and staff are deployed flexibly to meet changing need.
We embrace flexible working and will consider applicants who wish to work part-time. If at all interested we strongly suggest that you call or email to discuss these posts.
