We have an opportunity for a highly motivated HCPC Registered Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to join our nationally recognised Specialised Rehabilitation Medicine service on Broadfield Unit to work as part of our MDT.
You will be part of an established rehabilitation service which offers a significant opportunity to support implementation of high quality rehabilitation pathways and MDT working. You will contribute to building a culture of innovation, service improvement and development with strong links to local and regional communities supported by an invested interest in improving Specialised Rehab.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a friendly and supportive Specialist Neuro-Rehabilitation service where there is a wide range of expertise and experience.
- Support patients within a biopsychosocial rehabilitation model within an in-patient setting using Speech and Language Therapy client centred practice, with a proactive approach to service users’ recovery
- Support with assessment, implementation and evaluation of SMART goals within a collaborative, effective and evidence based service to facilitate Specialised Rehabilitation
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, supervision and demonstrating effective team working ensuring quality at its core.
- Further develop your specialist clinical and leadership skills
- Offers a varied role and responsibilities including assessment, therapy and management for our complex patient population
- Service development, training and research opportunities alongside excellent peer support will be available as part of the MDT and Haywood Hospital therapies portfolio and SLT colleagues
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge, skills and experience working with patients with complex rehabilitation needs

This is an opportunity to work in a transformative and innovative way with to assist shape the future of Rehabilitation Medicine which supports a wide catchment area that includes but is not limited to Cheshire, Staffordshire, Telford, Shropshire and Wales. You will need to possess competencies in assessment and management of routine dysphagia, awareness of PDOC pathways, excellent communication skills and experience of working with adults with complex rehabilitation needs.
