We are looking for a Band 6 specialist Social Worker to join our team.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting people with complex needs, ensuring that a social, strength based and person-centred approach is embedded in assessment, treatment, support risk planning and discharge pathways. The role will require knowledge and understanding of legal frameworks experience of mental health social work.

Your role will centre on the delivery of specialist mental health support to people with severe and enduring mental illness who are requiring treatment and care in Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and Acute Adults Inpatient Mental Health Units.
There will also be a requirement to complete statutory social work duties on behalf of the local authority including the completion of Care Act Needs Assessments, Mental Capacity Act assessments and Best Interests Decision processes.
This will be in the form of direct work with patients in Inpatient Units, contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings both in house and with colleagues externally. As a social worker you will ensure this work is undertaken in a strengths focused manner and from a rights-based perspective.
The postholder will facilitate supported person led assessments, support planning and outcome focused reviews of patients and carers who have eligible needs and complex and/or long-term conditions in accordance with legislative requirements, policy and professional frameworks.
