
As a Specialist Radiographer working in this newly updated and prestigious Breast unit at Prince Philip Hospital, Mammographers work within a busy one-stop breast clinic providing a highly specialised diagnostic service as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
The department benefits from the use of our recently updated Hologic Dimensions equipment along with a Vacuum Assisted Breast Biopsy system.
As a Mammographer, you will perform specialised radiographic examinations of the breast and assist with specialised interventional procedures such as breast wire localisation and vacuum assisted biopsy procedures.
You will work alongside a well established and experienced team of Mammographers, Clinicians and other breast unit staff.
To perform routine radiographic and more specialised mammography examinations on their own caseload of patients, assess the resulting images and recording the necessary information in PACS and Soliton.
The post holder will require the necessary CPD evidence, experience and training to undertake these duties.
To undertake diagnostic radiographic examinations.
To act as IR(ME)R practitioner and operator for radiological procedures within their scope of practice.
To operate a wide range of expensive, specialized imaging equipment safely and appropriately.
To ensure all relevant safety checks are made before proceeding with any examination.
To comply with IR(ME)R employer procedures, IR local rules and Health Board policies and procedures.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
