The interventional service at Royal Preston Hospital provides a wide range of interventional procedures for patients across the Lancashire and South Cumbria network. You will be expected to work in a range of different interventional radiology suites, working with the Philips Azurion Flex-arm and the Artis Zeego in our hybrid theatre. You will assist in the day-to-day running of the service in conjunction with the Lead Radiographer. This includes research, stock control, arranging patient appointments, undertaking audits and other non administrative duties. You will work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient care is delivered and high-quality imaging techniques are performed.
You will be responsible for the planning and allocation of work in the specific area of the department assigned, to ensure the timely delivery of an effective service.
You will monitor and maintain standards of professional practice, supervise more junior staff and deploy staff assuring standards are met.
You will also provide leadership and direction to the team, acting as a role model and patient advocate. Assess, plan and make informed decisions on the required Imaging examinations providing advice and maintaining associated records. Support the aims and vision of the Trust and to take personal responsibility for the quality of the service provided.
