Job overview

The Acute Surgical and General Medicine Therapy Team are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and driven Physiotherapist to join the team.  The individual must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills to support developing the service to provide high quality, timely therapy assessment and interventions.  Please note this is a rotational post between both the Acute Surgical and General Medicine therapy team.

As a senior Physiotherapist you will provide assessment, treatment and management advice for patients covering the new Critical Care unit and surgical wards including prioritising/managing the daily caseload within the team, assessing and delivering therapy interventions, ensuring the highest professional standards of care are maintained, demonstrating adherence to the Trust Values and operating as a leader in the team, service and organisation. There will also be an opportunity to cover the outpatient  Amputee clinic.

There is a requirement to be part of the respiratory on call rota.

Main duties of the job

  • To be a team member contributing to  the delivery of therapy services across the Surgical and Medical caseload, alongside the senior leadership team.
  • To provide specialist advice to therapy staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team and wider team.
  • To use client-centred approaches to patient care.
  • To participate in and provide clinical and management supervision.
  • To contribute to multi-disciplinary team working.
  • To contribute to and lead on service improvement and quality initiatives.
  • To use the Trust electronic patient record system.
  • To abide by all Trust policies and procedures.
  • To be able to respond flexibly and creatively to challenges.
