The Role
The post holder takes a lead role for a designated clinical area with a caseload incorporating patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge. You will have responsibility for the supervision, education and development of more junior staff, physiotherapy support workers and students within the speciality. You will provide a specialised resource to other healthcare staff/patients/carers. You will also have an active involvement in Clinical Governance and Clinical Effectiveness and Research.
Please note this post is part time 21.6hrs, salary is pro rata.
In this key role, you will:
- Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work including direct and indirect patient care
- Assess capacity, gain valid consent and have the ability to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent.
- Act independently to assess, analyse clinical and non-clinical information and provide highly specialist and comprehensive clinical diagnosis for individual patients to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention. This includes patients with complex presentations
- Act independently to plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patient care to maximise rehabilitation potential – including decision making regarding discharge from care
What You'll Bring:
- Qualifications as a Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
