We are seeking an enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Paediatric rotational scheme. This scheme offers the opportunity to gain a broad experience in Paediatrics through yearly rotations in the following areas of services:-

Pre-school Special Needs  & Special Schools

Schools Services (mainstream and special schools)

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner providing a specialist physiotherapy service to a designated caseload of children with a range of physical and mobility difficulties and Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the specified rotation. A significant proportion of these children will have English as an additional language (EAL). He/she will be expected to work collaboratively with CYP, parents/carers and colleagues in Health, Education and Social Services in planning and delivery of services.

The post holder will contribute to departmental meetings, clinical audit/research and projects. They will provide advice and deliver training to other professionals and parents/carers on all aspects of paediatric physiotherapy. He/she will provide clinical education and training to physiotherapy students and will supervise the work of the PTA’s and LSA’s.

The main specific areas of responsibility for this post are:

  • Providing specialist Physiotherapy services children and young people with a variety of conditions within Harrow both in the community and acute settings
  • Providing specialist advice, programmes and treatment plans to others regarding the management and care of CYP with physical difficulties
  • To provide supervision of the work of band 5 physiotherapists, assistants and volunteers regularly on a day to day basis
