An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic Psychologist to join us at Middlesbrough CAMHS Getting More Help team. The post holder will provide assessment, formulation and intervention to young people and their families in the Middlesbrough locality, working alongside an established & committed multi-disciplinary team, providing a psychological perspective to all aspects of the teams work.
Although this post is advertised as an 8a post, we are willing to consider applications from Psychologists who do not yet meet the essential criteria for a Band 8a, but who would be interested in undertaking the post at a Band 7 initially, with a supportive plan for development and progression in due course.
We welcome applications from staff who are currently coming to the end of their training in Clinical or Counselling Psychology that on successful completion will achieve the required qualification and registration with HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist. Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be joining a well-established community team, at an exciting time of transformation across our CAMHS services. The post will involve working in the community within the supportive and collaborative multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and interventions to young people and their families. The post holder will also offer supervision, advice, consultation and training to other members of the team and our partner agencies. There are multiple opportunities to be involved in service development initiatives as the service is constantly evolving to meet the changing needs of our population. Opportunities for further training and development as a Psychologist are available and encouraged.
Experience of working with young people and their families is important, as well as the ability to work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team and with our multi-agency partner organisations. The post holder will receive regular supportive supervision from the Consultant Psychologist within the service. There is a strong psychology network across the trust and within the CAMHS directorate.

Trainee Counselling Psychologists are eligible to apply for and to be shortlisted for interview and to be offered qualified posts when they are in their 3rd year of the doctoral training and have the following confirmed as completed by the university. This information may be requested prior to interview:
a. All clinical competencies.
b. 80% of the 450 supervised clinical practice hours (360 hours)
Trainee Clinical Psychologists are eligible to apply for and to be shortlisted for interview and to be offered qualified posts when they are in their third year of training, as they will have completed their core clinical competencies by this stage of the course.
