The Royal Marsden has also been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Our Pharmacy Department plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the Trust’s reputation and you will help us uphold our departmental vision, which is “To provide pioneering and compassionate medicines optimisation services”. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced pharmacy technician to join our dynamic, innovative, and friendly cross-site Oncology Pharmacy Team. This will provide you an opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills and gain invaluable management experience for a rewarding career.  The successful applicant will support the development and delivery of an advanced oncology pharmacy technician service, with a focus on Systemic Anticancer Therapy (SACT) verification, virtual clinical review, and digital oncology pathways to support safe, efficient, and patient centred care. The role will provide clinical support across a range of solid tumour groups and oncology settings, including outpatient clinics, medical day units, ambulatory services, homecare and self administration pathways, and inpatient wards.

Main duties of the job

The Specialist Oncology Pharmacy Technician will work onsite within the oncology pharmacy team, delivering clinical support to a diverse cohort of oncology patients and gaining experience across a wide range of solid tumour groups.

The role will involve providing care across multiple oncology settings, including ambulatory services (such as homecare and self‑administration pathways), outpatient units, day care areas, and inpatient wards, supporting seamless care across the patient pathway.

The post‑holder will act as a professional role model and mentor to junior members of the pharmacy team, supporting their development and ensuring that clinical practice, professional values, and behaviours align with the high standards of the department and the wider organisation.
