We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the neuroscience/neurorehabilitation rotation St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust . This post will provide an excellent opportunity for a Neuro Band 6 OT seeking a new challenge or an experienced Band 5 OT looking to develop their neuro skills.
Our current rotations include both hospital and community-based rotations which include the following areas: Neurology - Neuro cardiac including CTICU - Neuro trauma - Neurosurgery including NICU - Hyper acute and Acute stroke services - Level 1 and Level 2 neurorehabilitation including the inpatient FND service and Community neuro rehabilitation.
We have strong links to specialist services including spinal services, orthotics, community services we are also co-located with St George’s School of Health and Medical Sciences, City St George’s, University of London supporting their OT programme and students on placement. We are highly committed to our staff both in their clinical and non-clinical development.
We have an established supervision and CPD programme; running formal internal and external training and study days which we actively support staff to participate in. We are dedicated to evidence-based practice - reflected in our service standards, day-to-day care, service development initiatives and participation in research.
Clinical: The successful candidates will be required to provide specialist neuro Occupational Therapy to a wide range of neuro patients admitted under the care of St Georges.
The post holder will need to have existing specialist neuro skills and will be required to conduct timely neuro assessments, devise and implement treatment programmes and facilitate complex discharge planning as part of the established neuro clinical pathways.
Leadership/workforce management: Supporting and supervising OT support staff, OT students and Band 5 OT staff will be an integral part of the successful candidates role. Supporting teaching programmes within the Neuro OT team and across the MDT will also form part of the successful candidates job role.
