Specialist Midwife for Preterm and Multiple Birth

Job overview

The post holder will be responsible for enabling the implementation and maintenance of the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle, working alongside the SBL team and Lead midwife for Preterm Birth to deliver element 5 as the Specialist Midwife for preterm and multiple birth.

Ensure that local, regional and national preterm birth prevention standards are implemented effectively.

Main duties of the job

• Be responsible in prioritising, assessing, planning implementing and evaluating all aspects of element 5 of the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle in conjunction with CNST safety action 6.
• Participate in meetings in which Element 5 service issues are discussed.
• Act as a resource for colleagues so that expert knowledge in Preterm and multiple birth is available.

• Be competent in clinical skills to enable delivery of high-quality midwifery care within the service.

• Assist in the organisation and management of multi-professional care for women/birthing persons and families.
• Promote and collaborate in developing good working relationships with internal and external departments to ensure the patient journey is effective and efficient.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
