We are looking to appoint a Specialist Doctor in Geriatric Medicine at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be primarily based at the Northern General Hospital, but may be required to work at both campuses in the Trust.
The appointee will, together with senior colleagues (at both Consultant grade and other Specialist Grades be responsible for the provision of Geriatric Medicine.
The successful candidate will join a team of consultant geriatricians to deliver Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment for acutely admitted frail older patients. They will share a general Geriatric Medicine base ward with a consultant geriatrician and lead a team of resident doctors and non-medical practitioners. They will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality and efficient care.
Resident medical staff, office accommodation and secretarial facilities sufficient for the duties of the post will be provided from within the existing resource and shared with colleagues.
