This is an exciting opportunity, for a band 6 Dietitian to join an established specialist teams of 7 WTE kidney dietitians.
Nutritional support (including enteral feeding) and acute NHS ward experience are essential for this role, and dietetic experience in renal is very desirable but not essential.
You will be working within our large, friendly dynamic Dietetic department. The trust uses electronic patient record keeping and has excellent library facilities. The department also supports return to practice, and flexible working.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Main duties of the job
This post holder will be based at the UHCW hospital in Coventry, but there would be the opportunity to cover renal services across Warwickshire (although the ability to travel is not an essential requirement for this role).
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic & experienced Dietitian with excellent communication and team working skills, to work as an integral member of these teams.
The role will include a case load of renal inpatients and outpatients. There will be the opportunity to provide input to pre-dialysis, dialysis, renal transplant services, and there is a strong MDT focus within this role.
The whole department is actively involved in student training and committed to CPD. As a member of the dietetic team you will take an active part in the provision of training programs for A, B and C Dietetic students.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
With appropriate training and ongoing support, the main duties of the job include:
- Carry out dietetic / nutritional assessments (including interpretation of biochemistry,anthropometrics, clinical condition and diet history) to determine nutritional diagnosis
- Use enhanced clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist individual dietetic advice andtreatment plans for patients who may present with multiple / complex clinical conditions takinginto consideration patients own goals and incorporate discharge planning as appropriate
- Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment plans as required
- Communicate nutrition and dietetic information in an understandable form to staff, clients andcarers using teaching, motivation and counselling skills including situations where there arebarriers to change
- Undertake department audit and service development work, translating findings into practice
- Plan and organise the clinical supervision of student dietitians on clinical placement includingplanning, timetables and written assessments
- Support teaching / nutrition education of peers and multi professional colleagues
- Engage in department and own CPD activities
- Cover the work of colleagues and deputise for senior colleagues during periods of absence orpeak workloads
- Participate in health promotion activities of the department
- Participate in other duties as required
