Following recent developments within our Nutrition & Dietetic ‘Healthier Future Team’, NHS Forth Valley is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Dietitian to join our dynamic service.
We aim to deliver on the Scottish Government Strategy Document ‘A healthier future: Scotland's diet and healthy weight delivery plan’ whilst aligning with Forth Valley wide strategic priority areas. Our 4 sub-teams include Adult Weight Management, Child Healthy Weight, Type 2 Diabetes Early Intervention and Public Health Nutrition. We work closely with patients, groups, communities and a wide range of third sector and statutory partner organisations.
This post offers the opportunity to work primarily within Adult Weight Management, supporting the delivery of our Tier 2 and Tier 3 programmes, including Diabetes Remission. There will also be opportunities to work clinically across our wider Healthier Future workstreams, supporting children, young people and adults with healthy weight and diabetes prevention initiatives.
This role will involve implementing person-centred and innovative care pathways, collaborating with other professionals to create tailored, effective prevention or therapeutic strategies for individuals and groups. The scope of the role will evolve in response to service needs, ensuring a dynamic and adaptable career path, valuing the successful candidate's interests and experience.
As a department, we are also increasing the proportion of our work that is focused on targeted, prevention‑led approaches, addressing health inequalities and supporting those at greatest risk of diet‑related ill health. This post will work closely with our Public Health Nutrition Team and will include project work designed to stretch and develop skills across all four pillars of practice.
This role is well suited to a flexible and motivated Dietitian with experience in weight management and/or diabetes care; however, we also welcome applications from Dietitians with relevant transferable skills and a strong interest in prevention-focused practice. Training, supervision and support for ongoing professional development will be provided.
If you’re ready to be part of a dynamic and high performing team with the chance to influence, develop, and deliver impactful care across the lifespan we’d love to hear from you.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. More information on this scheme can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk
