An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and dynamic Dietitian to join our team of over 60 Dietetic staff at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
King’s has a long and illustrious history with emerging works in the area of science and nutrition. The authors of the Composition of Foods, Elsie Widdowson and Robert McCance met at Denmark Hill in the 1930's and Dr R.D. Lawrence and the author H.G. Wells founded the British Diabetes Association (now known as Diabetes UK) from this Hospital on the Denmark Hill site.
The Nutrition and Dietetic Department at KCH employs over 60 staff across three main sites; Denmark Hill, Princess Royal University Hospital, and Orpington Hospital. We are leaders in several areas of clinical care including paediatrics, hepatology, diabetes, renal, cystic fibrosis, complex obesity and neurosciences.
Dietetics within Critical Care is currently an expanding field of practice and a well-established service within King’s. King’s Critical Care is a world-class centre, the biggest in the country with 85-90 ventilated beds at the DH site. King’s Critical Care is a dynamic service with MDT patient care at the heart of its service. This is an exciting opportunity to join the King’s College Hospital Critical Care Dietetic team, offering the successful candidate a unique workplace experience and the prospect to be part of a world-class service.
This 0.8WTE Band 7 Critical Care Dietitian post will be based at the Denmark Hill site.
As a part of the Critical Care service at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust the successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop their clinical skills to provide specialist care for critically ill patients under the following specialties:
Major trauma
Neurosurgery, neurology, spinal injuries
Haematology & oncology
Liver/HPB
GI surgery
Cardiology & cardiothoracics
Renal medicine
General medicine
Dietetics within Critical Care is a well-established service within King’s College NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful post holder will work closely with all members of the MDT to provide an expert Nutrition and Dietetic service to our patients.
You will play an integral role in the large, supportive dietetic team at KCH. Our Nutrition and Dietetics department expects all staff to be involved in the teaching of other healthcare professionals, in line with our mission to provide excellence in clinical care, research and teaching in King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre.
