Are you a pharmacist seeking new challenges?

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, and highly motivated pharmacist to join our friendly medicines management team as a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist in the Havant area for our Portsmouth and South East team. The role is focused on providing clinical input to MDTs in an acute mental health in-patient setting with additional support offered to a mental health and physical health services both hospital and community based in the surrounding areas.

Ideally you will have experience in mental health pharmacy and working in secondary care services, but you may have transferrable skills from other areas of pharmacy. Full funding is available for post-graduate certificates and diplomas in clinical and psychiatric pharmacy, independent prescribing and attendance at conferences and courses such as those provided by the College of Mental Health Pharmacy.

You will join our wider progressive and forward-thinking Medicines Management Team who are developing new ways of delivering high quality care. As part of a current restructure the team is aiming to support the strategic goals of the 'Left Shift' namely:

Hospital to community

Sickness prevention

Analogue to digital

There is no requirement to work late nights, on-call, Bank Holidays or at weekends

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work collaboratively with Senior and Lead Pharmacists to develop, deliver and enhance clinical pharmacy services within the area including both community and inpatient workstreams. They will implement and monitor the Trust's clinical pharmacy standards, ensuring the consistent delivery of high quality, safe and patient centred pharmacy services.

The post holder will proactively identify service gaps and areas for improvement, applying appropriate approaches, including quality improvement methodologies, to support service development and drive continuous improvement.

Working in conjunction with the clinical pharmacy leads and the wider pharmacy team, the post holder will contribute to the delivery of an efficient, professional and well coordinated clinical pharmacy service across physical health and mental health This will include ensuring compliance with all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements, providing expert prescribing advice to medical teams, and supporting medicines management for multidisciplinary teams for patients at a clinical level.

Key areas of practise will be to:
