An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic Paediatric Nurse to join the expanding Paediatric Allergy Service at Sheffield Children's. You will help deliver high-quality, holistic care to children and young people with allergic disease, and their families.

You will manage and develop the oral food challenge service, ensuring that all procedures are carried out safely and effectively. The post also includes mentoring and supporting Band 5 nurses and Band 4 nursing associates, and contributing to service leadership and development in collaboration with the Band 7 nurse.

About You:

  • Registered Nurse (Child) – RSCN
  • Band 6 nursing experience
  • Demonstrated interest in allergic conditions and their management

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Matron, your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver holistic allergy care and education to children, young people, and their families
  • Manage the oral food challenge service, ensuring patient safety and clinical standards
  • Supervise and support junior nursing staff within the allergy team
  • Provide specialist education, advice, and support to families and professionals
  • Monitor patient conditions, administer treatments, and escalate concerns
  • Help develop and implement clinical guidelines and service improvements
  • Be an independent non-medical prescriber within areas of competence

Please note that Sheffield Children's uplift pay to meet the Real Living Wage, which is £12.60 per hour.
