Are you an enthusiastic, motivated and qualified Cardiac Physiologist keen to join an innovative team of Cardiac Physiologists and other Health Care Professionals?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Band 7 Specialist Cardiac Physiologists (echo) at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.  We are seeking to recruit two highly motivated individuals to join our busy and friendly team. You would be expected to work at all 3 sites which includes Maidstone Hospital, Tunbridge Wells Hospital and the Community diagnostic centre at Maidstone.

The successful applicants should have BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology)/ BSc (Hons) Healthcare Science (Cardiac Science) / MSc Healthcare Science (Cardiac) or equivalent plus BSE accreditation. Registration with HCPC or AHCS is desirable. They will be expected to work split shifts between 8am and 8pm, including weekends.

Due to a rapidly expanding cardiology service, significant investment is planned for the service shortly. This will provide an exciting opportunity to be involved in the cutting edge of cardiology and to help shape future cardiac services in Kent.

Main duties of the job

The posts would involve working in non-invasive Cardiology, including echocardiography, stress echo, valve clinic & TOE. The posts would also involve training and educating physiologists and other staff members in echo/non-invasive.

The Trust offers a range of invasive and non-invasive investigations including Physiologist led exercise stress testing, tilt testing, ambulatory monitoring, device follow-up and complex invasive procedures including angiography, PCI, PPM, ICD / CRT implantation and EP. All Hospital sites hold BSE Departmental Accreditation in Transthoracic echocardiography. We run a Physiologist Led Valve Clinic at both main sites and assist in the Rapid Access Heart Failure Clinic. We are working towards other physiologist lead services including stress echo, bubble, contrast echo & TOE.

We offer regular training sessions, mentorship and engaged leadership at all levels.

The post holders will be given an opportunity for development in echocardiography within the department. Continued professional and personal development is actively encouraged and the successful candidate will be given opportunities and supported to develop their postgraduate skills.
