We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Sonographer to join our busy, dynamic, and friendly Ultrasound team.
You should be registered with the HCPC, NMC or RCT and hold a UK CASE Accredited Postgraduate Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound. NHS experience is beneficial.

The postholder will:
- work autonomously within agreed protocols to perform a range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations and provide independent diagnostic reports.
- provide training and education to all members of the team.
- Participate in any future 7-day service, working across all OUH sites as required.
Main duties of the job
- Undertake and report on a wide range of ultrasound examinations on a rotational basis, including:
Gynaecology
Abdominal
“Lumps and bumps”
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) ultrasound

- Deliver a high-quality, efficient, and effective ultrasound service
- Work independently within your scope of practice, performing scans to a high diagnostic standard, prioritising workload, and producing comprehensive, accurate reports.
- Communicate results to clinicians and/or patients via agreed methods and be accountable for your professional actions.
- Support training and supervision of staff and students within the Ultrasound Unit, contributing to their development and learning.
