Job overview

We are seeking a reliable, compassionate and customer‑focused Soft Facilities Management Supervisor (Senior Porter) to deliver a high‑quality Portering Service across the Health Board. The role supports clinical services and patient care, working to agreed standards and policies, and acting on behalf of the Hotel Facilities Manager or Deputy when required.

You will provide professional portering and related Soft Facilities services to patients, staff and visitors, with flexibility to undertake a range of general and driving duties across hospital sites. The post also involves the safe and respectful handling of deceased patients, including identification checks, documentation, transport to the mortuary and liaison with funeral directors and ambulance services.

Throughout all duties, you will maintain dignity, confidentiality and professionalism, providing a helpful and courteous service that reflects NHS values and contributes positively to the patient and visitor experience.

Main duties of the job

The role will include rota planning, staff monitoring and supporting departmental performance targets in mandatory training and personal development.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and communicate effectively with the team and ensure services are maintained across the site.

A flexible approach to working hours is required. Hours of work average 37.5hrs per week over Monday - Friday with the expectation to cover weekends if needed . It may also be necessary to assist the team out of hours, during busy periods.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
