An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team supporting the implementation of the NHS Long Term Plan for treating tobacco dependency within the Acute Trust.

Previous experience in smoking cessation is desirable but not essential. If you're passionate about helping people tackle tobacco dependency, have strong communication skills, and are committed to promoting a Smokefree Trust, we’d love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

Based at Great Western Hospital, the Tobacco Treatment Advisor will play a key role in supporting both adult patients and staff who wish to stop smoking or reduce harm from tobacco use. You will deliver evidence-based advice and practical support to help individuals take positive steps towards a smokefree future.

  • Undertaking individual assessments with patients and staff
  • Providing tailored, evidence-based interventions in line with national protocols and guidelines
  • Offering harm reduction strategies during inpatient stays
  • Ensuring seamless referral pathways to community-based smoking cessation services
