Main duties of the job

Effective clinical leadership through monitoring and implementation of standards and evidence-based practice.Provide effective management and support for the nursing team in complex and pressurised situationsAct as a visible and strong role model for all nursing staff within the unit promoting professional practice at all times.To take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the clinical area with specific focus on risk management, safe staffing, skill mix, co-ordination of patient pathways and patient safety.To deputise for the ward manager in their absenceTo communicate effectively within the MDT at all times and exhibit a calm manner in situations of extreme workload and pressureMust have the ability to motivate staff and facilitate effective change management
