This is an exciting opportunity to join our already well-established team within the Urgent and Emergency Care Clinical Business Unit at Warrington Emergency Department.

The Emergency Department has a co-located Paediatrics Unit, Minor Injuries, Emergency Ambulatory Care Unit, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). We also have an Urgent Care Centre at Halton.

Main duties of the job

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of evidence-based nursing care.
  • Provide management and organisation of a clinical area.
  • Participate in the education, development, and line management of other staff members.
  • Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
  • Participate in improvement of services and the quality-of-care provisionClinical: evaluate care delivery according to changing health care needs and varying levels of complexity. Collect, collate, evaluate, and report information, maintaining accurate patient records. Involve patients and carers / relatives in the planning and delivery of care. Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure patient needs are met, especially in relation to ongoing care needs and discharge arrangements. Establish and maintain effective communication with patients and carers / relatives. Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations. Have significant experience of managing patients who require NIV, CPAP and Nasal Hi Flow O2 therapy. Have significant experience of working in a multidisciplinary team in the management of major trauma patients.
