Job summary

Main duties of the job

This post has responsibility for the leadership of the Southampton and Portsmouth SPA, providing a visible and accessible presence, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and care are aspired to and achieved within the resources available.

Key areas of delivery:

To work effectively within a multidisciplinary setting, holding self and colleagues to account appropriately and demonstrating personal commitment to integrated (managerial/professional) leadership

To achieve an agreed set of performance targets (including financial)

To contribute to the planning and delivery of service objectives, managing specific change projects as required

To respond to complaints and incidents, ensuring timely and thorough investigation, effective communication of recommendations and closely monitoring actions to ensure they are fully implemented

To identify risk and take corrective action

To promote and display, via personal actions, support for Trust'policies

To deputise for the Head of Clinical Services, Head of Quality Governance and Team Managers as required

The post holder is expected to provide line management and clinical supervision, and work alongside others across the sub-division to embed a robust and continually improving approach to supporting children, young people and families.

There is an expectation that the post holder will be able to offer flexible hours which may on occasion include some evening and weekend work.

This post is subject to on call.

Job responsibilities

Across Hampshire, our community hospitals provide inpatient rehabilitation as a step down from acute care, and our dedicated teams also staff Treetops Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Portsmouth, offering expert, compassionate support.
