Job overview

As a Simulation Technician, you will play a central role in facilitating simulation-based learning activities across healthcare settings. This role demands technical proficiency and a strong commitment to educational excellence, contributing to the design, setup, and delivery of simulation-based activities. Through your work, you will help promote patient safety and support the development of highly skilled healthcare professionals. Clinical simulation is a training method that uses realistic scenarios, equipment, and environments to help healthcare professionals practice and improve their skills without risking patient safety. It mimics real-life medical situations—like emergencies or routine care—so teams can learn, make decisions, and refine techniques in a safe, controlled setting. We are seeking a technically adept individual who combines a passion for innovation with a curious and resourceful mindset. The ideal candidate will be motivated to support innovative clinical education through the application of advanced technologies and problem-solving skills.

Main duties of the job

Manage storage, setup, maintenance and operation of sophisticated clinical simulation and AV hardware/software equipment. Provide technical and administrative support to simulation-based and other educational activities across UCLH sites.  Ensure education environments are safe, fully equipped, and function efficiently. Provide first-line technical assistance to educators and participants during activities. Deliver exceptional customer service and actively contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives. Support faculty development by training faculty to operate simulation equipment and AV hardware/software.
