The Clinical Service Lead is responsible for the day to day delivery of First for Mental Health services with direct line management for the service. They ensure there is day to day focus on strong clinical and operational, outcomes in an integrated way. They will play a crucial role in offering operational and clinical input to this important programme while continuing to support a busy quality agenda. The postholder will take a lead in supporting the Head of Service in monitoring the delivery of high-quality care across the First for Mental Health NHS 111 and MPS Section-136 Service Lines across the South London geographical area. The post holder will deputies for the Head of Service when required and also be a: • highly visible and proactive leader acting as a clinical resource and ensuring the sustained delivery of high standards of care • responsible for exploring current practice, identifying areas for development, and planning the appropriate change using current evidence to evaluate outcomes • responsible for the quality of the patient care and lead on facilitating changes which improve the patient experience • leader who works in partnership with other Trusts in the SLP and related crisis services • The post holder will be required to take up on Manager on call duties on rota basis. This involves providing support and expert advice to the inpatient services out of hours.

To lead on recruiting, motivating, training, developing and retraining appropriate staff enabling them to have the skills, experience and discretion to function effectively in their roles

To represent the service and deputies for the Head of Service where appropriate

To be responsible for monitoring the staffing establishment, ensuring timely recruitment and appropriate selection of staff and to ensure that there is an appropriate skill mix within the teams and which reflects service requirements and safe patient services.
To contribute to the development of a proactive philosophy and culture of health care provision, in which health promotional activity plays a major component
