Job overview

A registered nurse or therapist the post holder will support the clinical and non-clinical duties associated with the commissioning and provision of a safe, high-quality, value-based, patient centred cardiology service across the whole pathway for Powys patients. This post works in collaboration with the Advanced Cardiac Physiologist and GPwSI for the service.

Responsible for clinical leadership and operational management for Powys Cardiology services and will support the transformation of cardiology services in Powys by working with senior clinicians and senior officers, including those in neighbouring District General Hospitals, in the planning, provision, improvement and development of a range of cardiology services.

Main duties of the job

Provide inspiring and innovative leadership that supports the implementation and development of high-quality, value-based, integrated patient-centred care across the whole cardiology pathway which respects and responds to the needs of individuals and their carers.

Support colleagues to provide overall strategic management, business planning and development of cardiology services for Powys patients, including supporting the commissioning of services provided out of county.

Contribute to the development and understanding of strategic direction of the service, department and Health Board.

Regularly evaluate clinical effectiveness and outcomes through audit and service review and develop a highly skilled workforce in all service areas.

Implement new service developments to improve service delivery, clinical outcomes and patient experience.
