We are offering an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in supporting people with a learning disability to develop within the team at the Diamond Activity and Therapeutic Services in Doncaster. You will work alongside senior staff & be supported to deliver person centred care in accordance with support plans & agreed activities. Diamond Activity & Therapeutic Services is part of the larger Learning Disability Service in Doncaster and works closely with the staff in our community learning disability teams.

You must have demonstrable and current experience of working in Therapeutic Day Services, supporting adults with learning disabilities.

If you don't already have a Level 2/3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 2/3 apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].

As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation.  Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.

  • The Senior Therapy Assistant will contribute to the assessment, implementation, and delivery of care within a multi-professional team.
  • Will demonstrate responsibility to clients, relatives, and colleagues through contribution to the development and monitoring of agreed evidence-based practice.
  • Will support the qualified multi-professional team and contribute to the implementation of health and social care programmes primarily within a client setting.
  • Will coordinate the work of the Band 2 Support Workers in regard to group activities, 1:1 activities and adherence to therapeutic care plans
  • Several of our service users are wheelchair users and there is a requirement to use hoists and push wheelchairs.
  • To ensure the service users personal information is always treated with the strictest of confidence. Any requests to disclose information must be relayed to senior staff.
  • Where required use basic Makaton with service users. To escort service users on site when required.
