We work in a dynamic team of professionals and require a band 6 Senior Theatre Practitioner with RN or ODP registration to join our Theatres PACU/RECOVERY team.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills whilst working alongside dedicated motivated colleagues.

Main duties of the job

The applicants will ideally have substantial experience of working in the theatre environment with a genuine interest in managing a theatre PACU team, full support will be available. They should have exceptional interpersonal skills and have a focus on building team working relationships.

The successful candidate will be forward thinking and keen to develop themselves in the Senior Theatre Practitioner role with an in-depth knowledge of In-patient, Day Surgery and Maternity unit, Post - Anaesthetic Care for all specialities including the new Maternity team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

An experienced and competent health care professional who supports the Department Lead in promoting all aspects of clinical leadership in a specified clinical team.  The post holder is responsible for the quality of care and clinical excellence within the theatre environment through the development and best use of the team, by allocating work appropriately, implementing Trust policies, using resources effectively, helping to control limited financial budgets and contributing to the wider activities and strategic plans of the Division under the direction of the Service Manager/Matron.  The post holder will work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families/carers and take an active part in line management, leadership and development of the team.
