The Senior Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) position outlined here requires an experienced and skilled professional who will work closely with the Consultant cardiac surgical team, contributing at an expert level to surgical procedures.
Surgical Assistance: The SCP will assist with a wide range of cardiac surgical procedures, including conduit harvesting (long saphenous vein and radial artery), EVH (Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting), and act as the first or second assistant during surgeries.
Leadership and Supervision: As a senior member of the team, the SCP will provide leadership and mentorship to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring high standards of clinical care and empowering team members to develop their skills.
Clinical Care: In collaboration with the Consultant Surgeons, the SCP will be responsible for the full spectrum of patient care--pre, peri, and post-operatively--ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
On-call and Weekend Shifts: The SCP will be required to support an on-call service and work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet the demands of the organization.
Clinical Audit/Research: Participating in clinical audit and research activities is essential, contributing to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of patient care and service delivery.
