The Children and Young People’s Eating Disorders Intensive Support at Home (ED-ISH) Service is recruiting a Band 4 Senior Support Worker to work across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin working 37.5 hours per week

This specialist provision delivers intensive, evidence-based care to children and young people experiencing moderate to severe eating disorders. The service model is designed to deliver intensive, flexible and person-centred care for children and young people (CYP) with eating disorders

In this role, you will work directly with children, young people, and their families, supporting their mental health needs. You will operate independently to implement prescribed interventions and deliver agreed care plans, helping young people engage in everyday family and community life while promoting positive mental health outcomes.

Main duties of the job

  • Support young people with daily routines, mealtimes, and structured therapeutic activities.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to young people and families in line with individual care plans.
  • Assist in delivery of therapeutic interventions  and psychoeducational sessions under the supervision of qualified staff.
  • Promote recovery, independence, and positive coping strategies.
  • Observe, monitor, and report any changes in presentation, behaviour, or physical health to senior staff.
  • Contribute to creating a therapeutic and safe environment
