Job overview
The post holder will work closely with the Head of Adult Safeguarding to promote and progress the safeguarding agenda for all groups of vulnerable adults. To ensure a think family approach, the post holder will work with and support the Trusts Children Safeguarding Services.
The post holder will be a source of expertise to patients, staff and families. Providing training to practitioners and auditing compliance to statute duties outlined in safeguarding frameworks.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be able to,
- Line management responsibilities within the Safeguarding Team.
- Undertake audits in relation to safeguarding protection duties.
- support wards in safeguarding improvement projects, identified through audits, statute reviews and incident reporting.
- Coordinate and provide both mandated and bespoke safeguarding training.
- Work collaboratively with children and midwifery safeguarding services.
- Work collaboratively with Mental Health and Learning Disability Liaison services.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will,
- Maintain knowledge and expertise on local and national policy in relation to safeguarding adults and mental capacity.
- Facilitate and implement recommendations of statute reviews within the Trust as appropriate, with support and guidance from the Head of Adult Safeguarding.
- Participate in multi - partner forums, contributing to Safeguarding Board Activity and building collaborative relations with other agencies including Social Care, Police, Fire services.
- Support the Head of Safeguarding with the development of safeguarding pathways, policies and guidance.
- Provide Safeguarding Supervision.
