Senior Pharmacy Technician – Procurement and Medicines Optimisation

Job overview

• Support delivery of Trust drug budget CIP and Medicines Optimisation Agenda

• To assist the Pharmacy Procurement and IT Systems Manager in the safe and cost effect procurement of medicines for the trust.
• Answer queries of a complex technical nature in relation to drug availability and supply providing specialist advice to meet the needs of the patient / customer.
• To support the pharmacy technical service relating to High-Cost Medicines-not reimbursed by national tariff, at Alder Hey in line with NHSE and CCG commissioning intentions, local policy and procedures to ensure safe, evidence based and cost- effective use.
• To support the development, manipulation and analysis of reports and databases relating to medicines procurement and usage to ensure efficient response to commissioner, finance, and pharmacy information requirements.
