An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Lead Pharmacy Assistant to join our excellent Pharmacy Team’s on the Hammersmith hospital site, which are part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

You will be part of the busy Pharmacy Dispensary and Distribution Team, providing a high quality, patient focused robotic dispensing and stock management service to the wards and clinics. You will also provide support to pharmacy stores.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist with the training of new staff with the various applications used in the dispensary i.e. Prescription tracker and CMM (Pharmacy labelling and stock maintenance computer system
  • To assist with the auditing of dispensary and distribution services.
  • To co-ordinate the stock maintenance of sundries and personal protective equipment for the dispensary and offices
  • To assist with the receipt of medication into the dispensary or store, including receipt on the pharmacy computer system (ODELIV)
  • To co-ordinate, stock takes and adjust stock levels where a discrepancy is noted and assist in investigation of discrepancies, up to a limit of £500.
  • To assist in the provision of a high quality 'topping up' and 'self-ordering' distribution service of pharmaceutical supplies to wards, clinics and associated areas.
  • To assist with the training and quality assurance management of the top up service.
  • To ensure that stock levels for 'topped up' areas are appropriate and that the stock is in date and appropriately rotated.
  • To assist with stock list amendments i.e. addition or removal of items, increasing the levels, or making temporary stock list additions etc.
