Are you an experienced pharmacist seeking new challenges?

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, and highly motivated pharmacist to join our friendly medicines management team as the Senior Pharmacist for the Mid area team. You will work with team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who provide clinical pharmacy services to the Mental Health and Physical Health teams in Mid Hampshire covering in-patient and community settings.

Ideally you will have experience in mental health pharmacy and working in secondary care services, but you may have transferrable skills from other areas of pharmacy. Full funding is available for post-graduate certificates and diplomas in clinical and psychiatric pharmacy, independent prescribing and attendance at conferences and courses such as those provided by the College of Mental Health Pharmacy.

You will join our wider progressive and forward-thinking Medicines Management Team who are developing new ways of delivering high quality care. As part of a current restructure the team is aiming to support the strategic goals of the 'Left Shift' namely:

Hospital to community

Sickness prevention

Analogue to digital

There is no requirement to work late nights, on-call, Bank Holidays or at weekends

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

To ensure the provision of a consistently high-quality, safe, responsive and patient focused pharmacy service for patients within inpatient and community settings.

To support and implement the NHS Left Shift agenda by developing proactive, preventative and community based clinical pharmacy services that enhance patient outcomes, reduce hospital demand and improve continuity of care across inpatient and community settings.

To lead on quality improvement projects for pharmacy alongside other senior pharmacists and AHPs.

To co-ordinate medicine related audits.

To support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in delivery of a clinical/operational service to inpatients and community teams.

To provide specialist advice on pharmaceutical matters undertaking risk management and ensuring compliance with medicines legislation.

To work with primary care and secondary providers to improve medicines management across the interface.

To attend relevant meetings to present reports including data on quality, governance, finances and performance.

To attend and contribute to the Trust's Senior Pharmacy Management meetings.

To attend and contribute to the Trust's Medicines Management group as needed.

To provide line management for pharmacists and/or pharmacy technicians

To provide cover for other senior pharmacists and other pharmacy team members including at different locations across the Trust.

Additional portfolio as agreed with the Chief Pharmacist.
