Join The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust as a Senior Pharmacist for Cancer and Preparative Services and become an essential part of a team dedicated to delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services to Haematology and Oncology patients receiving systemic anticancer therapies. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care.

In this exciting and varied role, you will provide expert support to the aseptic unit and cytotoxic reconstitution services, acting as an Authorised Pharmacist and overseeing the day-to-day preparation and release of cancer treatments in accordance with national and local Good Manufacturing Practice standards. You will also deputise for senior colleagues, including the Principal Pharmacist – Cancer Services and the Principal Pharmacist - Aseptics & Quality Assurance, and contribute to the delivery of pharmaceutical services across the Trust. Main duties of the job

Clinical:

  • To screen and check systemic anticancer / chemotherapy prescriptions, ensuring their clinical and pharmaceutical appropriateness of prescribing, preparation and administration
  • To provide specialist expertise on the prescribing, preparation and administration of parenteral and oral systemic anticancer therapy, adult/neonatal total parenteral nutrition & other aseptically prepared products.
  • To provide clinical pharmacy services on selected wards and departments.

Preparative Services:

  • Day to day provision of preparative services including the implementation and monitoring of standard operating procedures for the provision of services and performance monitoring of service levels for Trust wards.
  • To liaise with the Oncology and Haematology teams regarding chemotherapy treatments, and provide advice and clinical support as required.
  • To participate in the evening, weekend and Bank Holiday rota and emergency duty rota where appropriate in line with Agenda for Change.
