Job overview

Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to join our Nottingham West Community Therapy Service (Covering Beeston, Stapleford and Eastwood mainly) as an Occupational Therapist working in the community. If you want to be part of a forward thinking and innovative service, then this is the opportunity you may have been looking for.

In your new role you will work closely with Physiotherapists, Assistant practitioners,  support staff,  district nurses, specialist nurses and social workers to provide the best possible care to service users in their own homes.

We are a 7 day service - 8am to 6pm on rota basis. Self rostering is encouraged.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our developing  integrated community services  providing clinical triage, rehabilitation, falls management, palliative care support and  support timely discharges from our acute Trust partners.

You will work autonomously as well as part of the multi-disciplinary team, liaising closely with health and social care colleagues to coordinate services, promote recovery from illness and enable health, wellbeing and self-care. You will be visiting patients within their own homes using a goal-orientated focus, to maximise patient’s independence, safety and quality of life.

The post will involve cross site working and community visits.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Please note that this post does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker/Health & Care visa. Applicants requiring a Skilled Worker Visa can determine the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship against the relevant criteria here https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
