Ready to take your next career step? We’re looking for confident, experienced Band 6 Anaesthetic Practitioners to join our dynamic theatre teams at Royal Surrey — to include working in our brand-new, state-of-the-art operating theatres known as the Cancer and Surgical Innovation Centre (CASIC).

This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise with leadership, working at the forefront of surgical innovation while supporting and guiding teams across a wide range of perioperative settings. We are looking for highly flexible practitioners who thrive in a dynamic environment and are confident working across multiple departments while supporting service delivery and staff development.

Main duties of the job

More Than a Job — A Leadership Role

You’ll be a visible leader on the ground, driving high standards and supporting the anaesthetic practitioners’ team to deliver exceptional care.

• Lead by example in busy, high-performing clinical environments
• Support and mentor Band 5s, students, and new staff
• Keep services running smoothly across multiple areas
• Step up, make decisions, and take ownership

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deliver safe, high-quality anaesthetic care across a range of settings
• Work flexibly wherever the service needs you
• Provide effective support to the anaesthetic team and support patient flow
• Attend and assist at priority calls in all areas of the hospital
• Champion patient safety, quality, and efficiency
• Be part of innovation — from advanced techniques to robotic surgery

What We Need From You

• Qualified ODP or Registered Nurse with strong anaesthetic experience
• Ready to step into leadership and support others
• Flexible, adaptable, and confident working across departments
• Calm under pressure and proactive in your approach
• Committed to high standards, safety, and continuous improvement
