Job overview

Do you want to be part of a highly supportive, multi-disciplinary team, who are forwarding thinking and fully support staff development?

Do you have experience of working within eating disorders or do you have core OT skills, which you are now ready to transfer?

The Wiltshire Community Eating Disorder Service (WCEDS) is looking for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about making a difference to adults who are suffering with an eating disorder.

You will be part of a team of dedicated and experienced multi-disciplinary professionals working with adults with eating disorders.

With a reputation for excellence, our service provides a stepped model of care tailored to the individual’s needs for stabilisation and recovery. We offer a range of programmes and evidence-based treatments to assist with this. We are a friendly, energetic and dynamic team who are proactive and visionary, focusing on excellent patient-centred care.

Within this post, you will provide specialist eating disorder assessment and treatment for adults with eating disorders, in a community setting across Wiltshire and Swindon.

We are working towards a culture where services from across the whole system work together to deliver positive and seamless experiences of care for adults with an eating disorder.

You will require a professional qualification with current UK registration.

Main duties of the job

You will be an exceptional individual who will work alongside our multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, CBT therapists, medics, dietitian and nurses in a holistic, patient-centred manner to deliver the best quality care experience and ensure the needs of patients are met.

You will provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and evidence-based, needs-led treatment and discharge plans within the clinic and community setting. This could be on an individual or group basis.

You will have outstanding communication skills, ensuring the patient, carers and the rest of the clinical team are kept abreast of plans and updates by providing verbal and written feedback and reports. This will include attending clinical and professional meetings and liaising with other agencies involved in the individual’s care.

There are exciting opportunities to be part of QI projects to develop services for the needs of local population, with support from experienced staff. This will include but is not limited to the development of the occupational therapy programme.

You will develop close working relationships with CAMHS colleagues and support the transition of patients from CAMHS to adult services.
