The key duties and responsibilities within the Band 6 Occupational Therapy role include,
Completing assessments to establish baselines and understanding of Occupational needs, Supporting engagement in meaningful activities. Completing individualized and group risk assessment to manage risk and promote positive risk taking. Providing collaborative tailored interventions based on mental health, sensory, and specific communication needs, that promote access to occupation, based on clear clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice. Including Practical skill development, Therapeutic skills programs, and restorative interventions. Providing regular repeat assessments and discussions in key development areas to demonstrate recovery. Regular involvement in wider internal meetings including management meeting, referrals, patient flow, and team meetings. Developing a range of group or individual Well-being workshops to promote development of life and self-management skills. Completion of monthly lead OT audit report to reflect service achievements, engagement, and access to occupational therapy services. Completion of 3-monthly About OT surveys, and completing structured comparative reports to identify trends, development areas, create clear action plans, and implement service development. Working in collaboration with the wider Occupational Therapy Team to develop the service across sites.
