This is a great opportunity for an experienced secretary looking to move into working in the very interesting and rewarding area of Haematology. We are seeking a highly motivated and committed Senior Medical Secretary to provide high quality administrative services to clinicians in the Haematology department at ESNEFT, based at the Ipswich site. This post is part time - 22.5 hours per week, fixed term to cover maternity leave until 4th February 2027.
You must have relevant qualifications and experience in providing a medical secretarial service within an NHS hospital setting, ideally with a background in Oncology or Haematology experience. To be successful you will have a flexible and professional approach. The key aspect of your role involves dealing with the public and professionals and hence you must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will be responsible for working independently and in a team providing a full range of secretarial and administrative support and therefore must be highly organised and show the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
Your duties will also include: monitoring of patients on various waiting lists/work queues, active cancer pathway management, communicating with the wider clinical and administration teams, and dealing with telephone, email and in-basket requests. You will be the first point of contact for patient queries which may be via telephone, email or MyChart requests.
