An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join one of our friendly & enthusiastic Outpatient teams.  We are dedicated to giving a high standard of care within our busy Outpatient units across the Specialist Surgery Directorate.

We currently have a full-time permanent vacancy within the Blenheim Head & Neck Outpatient Nursing Team based at the Churchill Hospital.

The successful applicant will be working in collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.  Applicants should be flexible, well organised with a professional, friendly manner & have excellent communication skills.

Main duties of the job

This role is an essential support to the busy Outpatient Head & Neck clinics. You will be supported and trained to decontaminate essential endoscopy equipment. Support and chaperoning patients during clinical examinations. Assisting with the smooth running of the unit - ensuring patient safety throughout the patient journey.

You should be able to use your own judgement to resolve issues, and have a tactful, sensitive approach to dealing with occasional difficult situations.

Working well under pressure with a flexible approach to work, with a willingness to suggest ideas for improvements will be welcomed.

Care Certificate Completion and or Qualifications in health & social care would be desirable, however this should not deter applicants who do not have this specific experience as support and training will be given. This is a link graded development opportunity, starting as a Band 2 and rising to a Band 3 dependant upon Care certificate and local competency completion. This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week working in The Blenheim Head & Neck Outpatients department at the Churchill Hospital. Flexible working options can be discussed at interview.
